Test Development Engineer (Junior)

You will be reporting directly to the Technical Manager and your main responsibilities will include test system design and development. Your technical input will require you to have or acquire a good level of understanding of electronic hardware and software.

In order for your application to be considered, you'll need to have some enthusiasm or even some experience for some of the following areas: -

• Digital Hardware design
• Embedded and / or software development 
• Circuit Schematic design 
• Test & Measurement Systems
• *Renewable energy solutions
• *Electrification Power Electronics: Power Electronics Machines & Drives (PEMD)
• *Automation
• Ability to take designs from initial concept through to completion
• Championing initiatives that will reduce the carbon costs on our planet
• Working within and collaborating with teams

Requirements:

• 5 GCSE’s or greater 
• A keen and responsible attitude to work and an ability to show initiative in all responsibilities and tasks
• Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Spreadsheets
• Good analytical skills 
• Good Numeracy, accuracy, attention to detail
• Electronic circuit / system analysis
• The ability to follow through a task to its successful conclusion
• The ability to learn and absorb new information and training
• Elementary understanding / ability of writing code

You will get the opportunity to be involved in a small and manageable project for the company as part of your learning journey, from concept and specification, design through prototyping and testing to preparation for manufacture. 

Responsibilities:

• Design of electronic/electrical equipment.
• Writing firmware/software.
• Assembly of electronic/electrical prototypes.
• Wiring of electrical assemblies.
• Purchasing specification.
• Draw up BOMs and cost projects & assemblies.
• Design and manufacture review with the Management Team.
• Writing of technical literature
