Ceratizit UK and Ireland has recently committed to supporting OAS for the next three years by providing cutting tools and technical support, and applications advice.
The partnership, worth up to £30,000 for the OAS Training Centre, will see Ceratizit’s industry leading range of cutting tools used by the next generation of engineers and technicians that are being trained and developed here at OAS.
Ceratizit UK and Ireland has been a pioneer in developing and producing sophisticated hard material cutting and wear protection solutions for over 95 years. It sees training the next generation of engineers as vital to the ongoing success of UK manufacturing and the support of apprentices and other educational establishments is an important aspect of its work.
Ceratizit UK and Ireland will also support our training provider, MTC Apprenticeships’s site in Ansty, Coventry.
On working with Ceratizit UK and Ireland, Emma Johnstone, Operations Manager at AMTC explains: “It’s great to have the support from Ceratizit UK & Ireland for the apprentice programme across both sites.
“Machining applications is a core subject for the qualification and underpins the advanced machining applications and practices that apprentices learn. Having access to the latest tools that are used in industry gives apprentices first-hand knowledge and skills that they will use in the workplace, a real benefit for employers.”
Ceratizit UK and Ireland’s Managing Director says: “Supporting MTC Apprenticeships and OAS is an ideal extension of the work we already do to promote the future of engineering. As part of the partnership with the MTC we will provide them with an annual allowance to spend on any product within our portfolio, as well as supporting them with remote and on-site technical support.”
