Oxford Packaging Solutions and OAS join forces

OAS, Oxfordshire’s leading training centre for advanced engineering apprenticeships, has been appointed to provide apprentice training from September 2020 for local packaging specialist, Oxford Packaging Solutions.

The new agreement will initially see two Oxford Packaging Solutions apprentices embark on OAS’s Advanced Level 3 Apprenticeship from September this year as the SME looks to develop its workforce. Oxford Packaging Solutions will then look to continue to utilise OAS’s full-service solution on a biennial basis.

Oxford Packaging Solutions is based in South Oxfordshire and is built on a heritage of producing high-quality plastic containers for the food and drink, personal care, household, and medical sectors. It specialises in precision blow moulding and works closely with all the leading global packaging equipment manufacturers to deliver the latest plastic packaging innovations and scalable solutions with an environmental focus.

This announcement is just the latest step in the journey of OAS and reflects its commitment to supporting the economic, social and cultural success of the region as the leading provider in hi-tech engineering apprenticeships and training in the area.

Commenting on the partnership, Marc Harrison, Director of Oxford Packaging Solutions, said:

“We’re excited to start working with OAS in September. Whilst we are focused on the here and now, it remains key for us to look to the future. The whole experience so far with OAS and the facility that they have in Culham is worlds apart from other providers in the area.”

“Our requirements at this stage are very bespoke but the team at OAS have worked hard to accommodate those whilst always maintaining that they will not compromise on the quality of the training provided to the learner. It is exciting to work with a provider that is so committed to the individual and I am in no doubt that our apprentices will come out having been trained to the highest level.”

Paul Smith, Key Account Manager at OAS, commented:

“We’re delighted to be working with such an innovative local business in Oxford Packaging Solutions. The organisation is aligned with our aims to support the next generation of manufacturing engineers and leaders. It is new partnerships like this that show our commitment to the region for years to come.”

As the partnership progresses, Oxford Packaging Solutions may also look to utilise OAS’s other training programmes including its new Level 4 Apprenticeship to upskill members of its existing workforce.
