In light of the situation surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic and our responsibility to the economic success of the communities in which we serve, we have been providing support and guidance for our partners and engineering businesses of all sizes throughout this difficult time.
With the economic uncertainty that the Coronavirus outbreak has brought and many businesses furloughing staff or, unfortunately, making staff redundant, our team of experts have been providing support to businesses on how best to prepare their workforces for the months ahead.
Through a series of virtual meetings and other methods, our team have been educating the local business community on how OAS can support them through this difficult period. Whether this is through the recruitment of Level 3 apprentices, or alternatively, rewarding current employees for their hard work through the lockdown and upskilling them with a Level 4 apprenticeship or HNC.
As we get back to what will resemble the new normality, businesses will need to ensure their workforces are prepared. We have a duty of care to the sector to ensure we provide a service that will not only benefit our partners but also the economic stability and future of the region.
On the support OAS has been providing and what the future has in store for the area, Paul Smith, Key Account Manager at OAS says:
“It has been a challenging time for the country as a whole, but at OAS we are perfectly set to help businesses bridge any skills gaps via our Level 3 apprenticeship and up skill employees via our Level 4 or HNC qualifications.
“In recent weeks we have spent a lot of time helping our partners and other businesses prepare for when restrictions are lifted. Many are looking to recruit but others are looking to reward employees with further training to ensure they remain motivated. This is a key element and a method we are encouraging as it creates a clear development pathway and ensures employees remain committed to the cause.”
